Rome Fun
Rome is a capital of music. As with all large cities, the central city of Lazio is accustomed to holding concerts for the most famous international stars, who have to consider the city to be an obligatory leg on their tours. September 2008 is a month extremely rich in these kinds of opportunities, with two concerts which are- for different reasons- unique. On the 6th of September it was Madonna, the queen of pop’s turn, who put on a show, as per her usual style, rich in adrenaline, and on the 26th it will be Queen’s turn. Yes, that’s right, for one night you can relive the legend that is Queen, a band which has made music history and which has remained legendary even after the many years which have passed since the death of the original front man, Freddie Mercury.
This event represents a wonderful occasion to spend a few days in the capital, by day visiting the wonderful cultural attractions (about which you can view more information in this on-line blog) and enjoying the show during the evening. Some information regarding finding accommodation: the options open to you are multiple and range from appartamenti a Roma to hotel a Roma (different possibility for an alloggio Roma). These are, nevertheless, able to be reserved on-line via the Internet site.
In short, by getting to Rome, the many Italian fans of the unforgettable Freddie Mercury’s band will be able to fulfil their dream of seeing a fantastic band in the flesh. It is an opportunity worth taking advantage of, given the rarity and uniqueness of the event, which will also be entertaining Milan over two evenings.
The difficult task of substituting the original voice falls to Paul Rogers, in a four month tour which is set to stun. This experiment already had success a few years ago and the new voice, alongside Brian May and Roger Taylor, made the immortal hits of Queen come to life again.
The “Queen + Paul Rodger Rock the Cosmos 2008″ tour will cover 14 countries in Europe, Asia and South America. But there’s more: the new album is also coming, with Rogers on vocals, headed off with the single “Say It’s Not True”. It’s an ambitious project that perhaps will not convince all of Mercury’s fans, but it’s certain that the event will be spoken about for a long time to come. The date of the concert is the 26th of September at the Palalottomatica in Rome, and two days at the Datch Forum in Milan.
