Debix, Lifelock And Trustedid Review

Do you know how many identity theft victims there are each year? There are over 10,000,000 identity theft victims per year, and the cost to the economy is $50,000,000 per year. Identity protection services are a great way to protect yourself against identity fraud. Here is an introduction to some of these identity theft services.

Services such as TrustedID, LifeLock and Debix place and renew your fraud alerts every 90 days. They all provide you with your free annual credit report and remove you from pre-approved credit card offers and junkmail lists. Other then this there are many differences.

TrustedID has a service called ID Freeze that scans black market internet sites for your Social Security number, bank account and credit card numbers, name and address and stops them from being sold illegally. Trusted ID is the only identity theft service to give you anti-spyware protection for three computers. Like LifeLock they also have a $1 million insurance policy.

Debix has a unique fraud alert system. Instead of placing your telephone number in your credit file Debix places their number. When a creditor calls this number, the Debix system will reroute the call to 3 numbers you have provided them. You can then approve or disapprove the credit request. If you disapprove the application you will then be connected to an identity theft specialist who can assist you with your situation calling authorities as appropriate. Debix also includes $25,000 of identity insurance. Debix also has the cheapest service at $24 a year.

LifeLock reviews are all over the web but many are biased or strictly promotional unlike this one. LifeLock includes other proprietary services such as WalletLock, eRecon and TrueAddress.

WalletLock replaces your identification if you have your wallet stolen saving your valuable time. TrueAddress scans databases to verify that your address hasn’t been changed as that is a common tactic used by identity thieves. ERecon scans black market internet sites to ensure that your private information is not being traded by criminals. ERecon scans for such things as your credit card numbers, Social Security number and drivers license.

LifeLock protects you with a $1 million insurance policy.

The only other differences worth noting between these services is that in the case of Debix and TrustedID they only assist you with restoring your identity and credit to pre-theft levels. LifeLock will take on the workload themselves freeing up your valuable time.

The easiest way to protect yourself from the horrible crime of identity theft is by utilizing an identity theft service like TrustedID, LifeLock and Debix. What service you use doesn’t matter. What’s important is that you protect yourself and your family before your life gets turned upside down.
