Getting It On With Your Own Zippo Collection

If all else fail, then better go for the Zippo. I mean, really, this should be your first choice when it comes to buying lighters altogether. We all know that the Custom Zippo Lighters has been in the business since the 1930s, and this just goes to show how experienced the company is at creating and producing windproof lighters. Being the smoker that I am, I still haven’t gotten over the many impressive styles and designs that Zippo Lighters come in. I even started a collection of my own a few months back already. And the fact that Zippo Manufacturing is actually suing Walt Disney and ABC is making me more headstrong about completing my collection!

My first ever lighter was one of the Zippo Lighter. My dad gave it to me as a birthday gift, and Zippo has long been my choice ever since. I started with the more modern ones, and I have quite a lot in my collection already. I have slim Zippos as well as Zippos bearing military designs. With the many designs that I find all over the market, I just cannot seem to have my fill.

Right now, I’m planning to go for the classic ones, especially the vintage ones. Remember the Zippo Blu? Cigar lovers are just all over the Zippo Blu. I, myself, am not really much of a cigar smoker, but the Zippo Blu is just a lighter that I got to have. The revamped Zippo Blu still bears the same flint mechanism that characterizes the classic models. What’s more, its blue butane flame does not do anything that can take away the distinct flavor of your cigars and cigarettes. This is something even the classic Zippo Blu lighters cannot brag about. Other designs that I’m eyeing are the vintage pre-WWII sterling Zippos. These designs are very rare so finding one for my collection would definitely be a great catch.

Interestingly, Zippo lighters can be dated by checking its bottom. The ones with flat bottoms were created from 1938 through 1945. Round bottoms were produced from 1946 through 1965, while canned bottoms were produced from 1945 through 1965. Beyond 1965, Zippo lighters could then be dated via their lines. This is something I didn’t know until I browsed for some information on dating Zippo lighters on the net. With this rich history to its belt, Zippo lighters are truly the must-have lighters in the market today. You just might want to start your own collection right now!
